A stock tank barrel refers to the volume of oil and gas that occupies one barrel (42 US gallons) at standard conditions. Standard conditions are defined as a temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit and a pressure of 14.7 pounds per square inch absolute (psia). This standardization allows for accurate and consistent measurement of oil and gas.
